In-person sessions

In-person therapy in St. Agatha, near Kitchener‑Waterloo

In-person sessions on Tuesdays at the Southern Ontario Counselling Centre in St. Agatha, a short drive from Kitchener‑Waterloo.

Some weeks, the most useful thing therapy can offer is a room that is only yours.

I see in-person clients on Tuesdays at Southern Ontario Counselling Centre in St. Agatha, just outside Kitchener‑Waterloo. If you live in the KW area or one of the surrounding communities, in-person work is a real option. Virtual sessions run across Ontario throughout the week.

What to expect

When you arrive

Southern Ontario Counselling Centre is a shared clinical space hosting multiple practitioners. When you arrive for your first session, the practical details (the door, the waiting area, where to park) will be confirmed in advance so there are no surprises. The exact arrival logistics will be sent to you when you book.

Who it’s for

Who works with me in person

Most of my clients are parents, and most of my work is around the experiences of parenthood. But in-person clients arrive for the full range of work I do, parent or not. Some examples of clients who come to St. Agatha for in-person sessions:

  • Parents of babies or young children who want a face-to-face space outside the house where the baby is not present.
  • Couples doing parent support sessions together, where the in-person room makes the work feel more intentional than a screen.
  • Adults who simply do better therapeutic work in person than over video, regardless of their presenting issue.
  • Local clients who like having a real building, a real chair, a real walk back to the car at the end of session.

Services I offer in person

Every service I offer is available in person on Tuesdays. Choose whichever fits closest to where you are, and you can go deeper from there.

The space

A quiet room, a comfortable chair, and time that is genuinely yours.

Heather Young stands at the open front door of her St. Agatha office in a green blouse and navy blazer, smiling warmly.
The waiting area: a black Eames chair with a patterned cushion in front of an electric fireplace and a canvas painting of birds on birch trees against an ochre wall.
The office from the client's seat: a beige sofa and arm chair facing each other across a wooden coffee table, with botanical prints on a sage green accent wall.
Heather seated in the office chair holding a tablet, smiling, with a desk lamp in the foreground evoking an in-session moment.
A close detail of the office: a green ceramic table lamp on a wooden side table next to a mustard armchair with a small clock and a sheepskin throw.
A black bookshelf beside the office sofa, holding a wooden vase, glass dome with a seashell, crystals, an hourglass, and trailing greenery, beneath a framed Mother Teresa quote.
A stack of therapy books on the coffee table: No Bad Parts, Parenting from the Inside Out, Trauma and Recovery, The Gifts of Imperfection, Fierce Self-Compassion.
A soft detail: a green ceramic table lamp glowing against a deep green wall, beside a small clock, a knit throw, and a black and white botanical print.

Good to know

In-person questions

I only see in-person clients on Tuesdays at present. If Tuesdays do not work for your schedule, virtual sessions across Ontario are available throughout the week and many local clients find that virtual works well for them. The option to start virtual and try in-person later (or vice versa) is also available.

Within reason, varied. The St. Agatha location is most convenient for clients in Kitchener, Waterloo, New Hamburg, Wellesley, New Dundee, and the surrounding rural Waterloo Region. Clients who live further out sometimes do the drive once a month and virtual sessions the rest of the time. The right cadence is something we figure out together.
